Sprinkle basil over marinara sauce, and top with half the mozzarella cheese, followed by half the Parmesan cheese.

- cover chicken breasts by drenching it in flour, egg, flour, egg then bread crumbs.
- put chicken in fridge while preparing the sauce.
- fry under medium heat at around five minutes per side or until golden brown.
- for the sauce, put in tomatoes, bring to a boil then simmer.
- add the remaining ingredients to your liking. add hot sauce if you prefer a little bit heat.
- put the chicken on top of the sauce. add Cheddar and parmesan cheese on top of the chicken breasts.
Add generous spoonfuls of marinara over the seared chicken breasts and finish with mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle basil over marinara sauce, and top with half the mozzarella cheese, followed by half the Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle on the croutons, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese. Layer each chicken breast with equal amounts of mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and provolone cheese. I made this Chicken Marinara recipe after thinking about ways I could put a spin on a more traditional chicken parmesan…and I think you'll notice that it is indeed very similar.
