My family loves okra (ladies finger) and I make it quite often. Lady's finger/Okra/Vendakkai sambar recipe - Basic south indian style sambar for rice ! oh i love this sambhar.my very very favourite when my mom makes it.very tempting sambhar.   1. Wash the dal properly. Boil it adding some salt and a few drops of oil. Boil till mushy. Keep aside.

  5. Add salt and red chilli powder and cook till the veggies are done.
  6. Add the dal when the veggies are tender. Add the sambhar powder and simmer till they blend.
  7. In the end add tamarind pulp and adjust consistency. Cook on low flame till the pulp mix well. Add a tbsp of ghee if you wish.
  8. Turn off the gas and serve it with rice.

Rinse lady's finger well, trim both the ends. Add ladies finger along with turmeric powder and sambar powder. Half fill a kadhai or frying pan with oil, and when the oil is nice and hot, fry the lady fingers in small batches and place in a.
