- Pour into a lined loaf tin and bake for 1 hour. Use a skewer or knife to check whether the cake is done.
- For the chocolate fudge topping, heat the sugar and evaporated milk in a pan until the sugar has dissolved.
- Bring to boiling point, stirring continuously and then reduce the heat and leave to simmer for 6 mins.
- Remove from the heat and add the chocolate pieces. Mix with a balloon whisk until smooth and then add the butter and vanilla.
- Allow to cool before transferring to a bowl. Cover with cling film and refrigerate until it's ready to spread on the cake.
